2009-2010 President's Cup Week 10
Champions finish in style
The final round of President’s Cup games saw newly-crowned champions Sussex complete their campaign with an emphatic win over last year’s winners London. The South–coasters’ 56 was by a distance the highest team score of the week and the culmination of a fine second half to the season which has seen them regain the title.
Unusually, the other two matches were both held at the same venue, the Old Star. In the basement the Mastermind Club had little difficulty in defeating an Oxford team whose scoring was remarkably lopsided. Upstairs a three-man Cambridge team completed their dead cat bounce finish to the season with a defeat of Beds & Herts. This is the first time that Cambridge have failed to raise a full complement of players but it could now become a standard tactic.
I would like to thank everyone for taking part this season and especially Dag Griffiths for supplying the questions.
