Years in League: 1990-91 to date Division 1: 1990-91 to 2017-18 Division 2: 2018-19 to date Titles: Division 1 Champions (6) 1990-1, 1993-4. 1994-5, 1995-6, 1996-7, 2001-2; All-London Cup (2) 1993, 2007; All-London Plate 2009; Charity Shield (4) 1992, 1997, 2005, 2007 Former names: Manor Arms (1990-1), Manor Athletic (1991-2 to 1996-7), Athletico Manor (1997-8 to 2002-3)
Atletico is the direct descendant of the Manor Arms team, one of the League's founder members, playing out of the League's spiritual home, the Manor Arms in Clapham. The team originally featured Donald Yule, alongside Charly Fitzpatrick and Barry Scott.
In 1992 Robert Willer joined Manor Athletic as they had then become and the team finished runners-up that season, in 1993 John McDonnell replaced Barry for the Cup campaign, and the side became almost unbeatable. They won every game in 1993 (the latter part of the 1992/3 season, winning the Cup, and the first part of the 93/4 season), and won the League title four years running.
After the fourth win Donald and John decided to move on to fresh challenges, and Brian Wright joined the squad. To mark the changes the name changed from Manor Athletic to Atletico Manor. In 2002 Phil and Jan Smith became squad members and the next season the team dropped the Manor from the name after they left Clapham. William De Ath joined the squad in 2005 and in 2010 Mick Lancaster became one of the team. Mark Eves was added in 2014 and in 2015 the team were very fortunate to secure the services of Counterpoint Champion, Dan Adler (so that’s music covered).
After sojourns at the Hogshead / Five Bells in Streatham, the Crown in Blackfriars Road and the Three Stags in Kennington Road, last Christmas the team were told that alas there was no room at the inn and they began a peripatetic existence to complete the fixture list. 2017-18 was not a season that the team will look back on with any great fondness and for the first time in their venerable history they face the new season in division 2.
New digs have now been arranged at The Gladstone in Lant Street SE1. Could it be that Atletico’s fortunes are about to turn?

History of recorded score sheets |
This list may be incomplete, for the following reasons:
- Virtually no information remains on individual matches prior to the 2001-02 season - only the end of season league tables were kept, plus a small number of individual and team records.
- From 2001-07, individual team scores were recorded but individual scores of 10+ only were published. Some players kept individual records during this time, which has helped us fill in some of the blanks.
- From the 2008-09 season, individual 2s totals were also recorded though, unfathomably, not for that season's inaugural Summer Friendly League.
- From the 2009-10 Summer Friendly League, the entire score sheet was recorded, so full individual player details are available, including 2s, 1s, seat number, playing captain, QM etc.
